About Nerja Spain Town
Nerja Spain, located on the eastern edge of the Costa del Sol, has over 10 miles of powdery beaches where visitors may enjoy sports such as water skiing, scuba diving, and sailing. Despite being tourist-oriented, it has not been invaded by high-rises, and its expansive promenade offers panoramic Mediterranean vistas.
It defines the eastern boundary of Málaga’s Costa del Sol. The town was formerly a peaceful fishing community, but it currently boasts over 25,000 residents.
Nerja (pronounced [ˈneɾxa]) is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga, autonomous community of Andalusia, southern Spain.It belongs to the comarca of La AxarquÃa.  . It is located on the country’s southern Mediterranean coast, approximately 50 km east of Málaga.
Under Muslim administration, its name was Narixa, which means “abundant source” and is the basis for the current name.
Beaches in Nerja Spain
Nerja Spain has more than its fair share of wonderful beaches, with 16 km of white sand, crystal clear and quiet sea, and a scattering of little bays. The coastline offers all main water activities, including water skiing, scuba diving, and sailing.
The main beaches are Burriana and Torrecilla, both of which have been given the blue flag. Burriana Beach is a popular spot for both locals and visitors, and it offers exquisite seafood grills on the beach as well as the specialty midday giant paella. Alternatively, you may eat a delicious English steak and kidney pie with a classic pint at the Black Horse.

The town’s ancient district remains largely untouched, with small, twisting alleyways, whitewashed buildings with wrought iron terraces full with geraniums, and the occasional canary chirping.
Visitors can hire a horse-drawn carriage to tour the town’s most noteworthy streets and sights. When in Nerja, be sure to see the 17th Century Church of El Salvador and the Gardens of Capistrano Playa.
